I have worked in public practice in the Sudbury area since 1987 when I graduated from Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology with a 3 year diploma in Accounting. Prior to joining Laberge Venne & Partners in May 2003 I worked for a large local firm, KPMG and BDO Dunwoody LLP since 1990. Until 1997 I worked primarily in accounting when I took an active interest in computer systems and consulting. At that time I took over the responsibility of administering the internal network systems for the Sudbury office of BDO Dunwoody LLP. This involved set up of new workstations, running of network cables, software upgrades and regular maintenance of both the server and workstations. Also, in 1997 I completed the requirements to become an ACCPAC Certified Consultant in both the Windows and DOS versions. Since then I have worked on various large and small computer consulting engagements, and in 2002 began working full time in ACCPAC consulting. Having completed the required Microsoft courses and exams in Windows NT 4.0 I also hold the designation of Microsoft Certified Professional. With Laberge Venne & Partners I work with a variety of softwares including ACCPAC, Quickbooks, Simply Accounting and Business Visions. I have worked with a variety of industries including transportation, wholesaling, construction, health care, not-for-profit and First Nations in both accounting and computer consulting. From 2001 to 2007 I held the positions of Chairperson and Treasurer of the board for the Capreol Child Care Centre. I am active member of Our Lady of Peach Catholic Women’s League in Capreol and have in the past acted as a parish liaison to St. Mary School as well as participating as a leader in the Children’s Liturgy program. |
